Britney Spears Engaged; Presented With 3-Carat Diamond Ring
Britney Spears is engaged to boyfriend Jason Trawick; the pop star posted a message on her Twitter account on Friday about receiving “the one gift” that she longed for.
According to “Access Hollywood” host Billy Bush, Trawick confirmed the engagement after being contacted by text message. The show has quoted Trawick as confirming the news simply by replying, “Yes, we are engaged.”
An unnamed source has also confirmed the news to Us Weekly magazine. The celebrity mag has reported that Trawick proposed to Spears at a private dinner Thursday on his 40th birthday. Reportedly he gave the singer a three-carat round stone and pave diamond ring.
Spears tweeted on Friday: “OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for. Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!!”
Spears has had a troubled love life in the past; previously being married to dancer Kevin Federline for two years – having two children with him. She has also previously married childhood friend Jason Alexander during a trip to Las Vegas in 2004. That marriage was annulled after just 55 hours.
