'Doom' Open Beta Details Fully Revealed, Now Available for Pre-Load

Only a few weeks left until the first-person shooter video game "Doom" will hit store shelves. But before it could officially make its way to gaming platforms, Bethesda sent out the fans to an early treat by kicking off an open beta. According to a report by Ubergizmo, the new "Doom" video game will have an open beta multiplayer game which will start on April 15 up to April 17.

"We're opening the gates of Hell to everyone! From April 15 through 17, take part in the DOOM Open Beta multiplayer event. No codes necessary," writes Bethesda in the short sneak peek video released, specifying that the open beta will not need an invite or a special . VG 24/7 also detailed that gamers can start pre-loading the game now so that the game can be played right away once it opens on Friday.

For those who are interested of pre-loading, the downloading weighs in at 8.57 GB. And since the open beta will run only for three days, it's only wise to load things up early. As to what's included in the open beta, IGN noted that it will have a limited content and feature set. It will also only have a multiplayer content so there will be no single-player missions or even the Snap Map modding tool.

There will be two maps, Heatwave and Infernal, but there will only be one demon available which is the Revenant. The weapon options are plenty though like the Rocket Launcher, Plasma Rifle, Super Shotgun, Vortex Rifle, Heavy Assault Rifle, Lightning Gun and Static Rifle. There's also going to be a Gauss Cannon Power Weapon along with pieces of equipment like the Frag Grenade, Siphon Grenade and Personal Teleporter.

The "Doom" will be open to everyone on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The actual release date of the game will be on May 13.
