Final Fantasy 5 Remake Now Available for the PlayStation Vita for $9.99

Final Fantasy 5 is now available in North America for the PS Vita in the PlayStation Store.

"Featuring all-new CG cinematic sequences exclusive to this edition, discover the origins of special FINAL FANTASY® features including the Active Time Battle system, mini quests, magic summoning and much more," the PS Store posted. "This title has been converted from the original PlayStation® disc to the PSP® and the PS3™ systems. Consequently, there may be times where the title plays differently from the PlayStation® disc version, or where some features may not function properly."

The game will go for $9.99, and was previously rereleased for the PS3 with an iOS version also out this March for $15.99.

FF5 was originally released in Japan in 1992 for the Sumer Famicon, and later ported to PSOne and Game Boy Advance.

Square Enix is also rereleasing the very popular Final Fantasy X and X-2 in HD for the PS3 in March. It will come in a single disc bundle pack that will have a standard and special limited edition. The special edition will include a 48-page art book that contains commentary and concept art, according do Polygon.

"PlayStation 3 owners can get both games in one single-disc bundle. Choose from the standard edition or a special Limited Edition version, which includes an exclusive to Europe and PAL territories 48-page art book showcasing an elegant collection of concept art from the games, along with commentary from the original FINAL FANTASY X and FINAL FANTASY X-2 development teams, and a special message from Producer Yoshinori Kitase," said the gaming company in a press release.

According to Joystiq, the PS Vita version of the game along with the PS3 Japan release was still scheduled to arrive on Dec. 26, but a further announcement said Square Enix would reveal the date at a later time.

The newest game, Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn will be released in 2014 for the PS4, developer Square Enix announced last week. The game will be available as a beta Feb. 22, 2014, which is also the same day the PS4 will arrive in Japan, reported Polygon.

FF14 was first announced during this year's E3 conference, and Square Enix said for those who have the game on PS3, a PS4 update would be free of charge. All data and character info will transfer over as well.
