'Flip or Flop' Season 8 Canceled or Renewed? HGTV Remains Silent

Is HGTV's "Flip or Flop" season 8 canceled? An exclusive report claims that sources have it on good authority that season 7 will be the last for Christina El Moussa and Tarek El Moussa. Other sources, however, hints that talks are still ongoing for the new season. So far, there has been no official word from HGTV. The season finale for "Flip or Flop" season 6 airs on March 30, at 9:00 p.m. EDT.

Season 6 of "Flip or Flop" looks to be doing well when it comes to ratings, and an entire season 7 of the home improvement show is set to air later this year, so there's still a lot of "Flip or Flop" for viewers to enjoy before everyone starts to wonder about season 8. So far, neither Christina, Tarek, nor HGTV has commented about the next season, and they are not likely to before anything concrete is established, according to Cinema Blend.

Reports have already come about, however, that season 7 will be the last for "Flip or Flop," and also could be the last time the couple would work together for a while. An exclusive report by In Touch Weekly claims that five sources made similar statements, to the effect that there are no plans to film "Flip or Flop" after season 7.

"They won't go beyond what they've already shot. There will be only the spinoff shows with the new couples in different cities," a source revealed. "Christina El Moussa and Tarek El Moussa won't be filming more episodes. Season 7 is their last," the source close to the network added.

Sources confided to TMZ, however, that the couple are still currently in discussion with HGTV about their plans for the new season, and that they are not letting their divorce get in the way of keeping the production of the show going. So far not one of the parties involved has commented on season 8 of "Flip or Flop" so fans can just enjoy season 7 and stay tuned for news of the next season, or the lack thereof.

Watch the season finale for "Flip or Flop" season 6 at 9:00 p.m. EDT on HGTV.
