Free Crib to Babies Born in 9 Months: IKEA's Valentine's Day Special Deal

A free crib will be given to babies born in 9 months time by furniture company, IKEA, which is celebrating the most romantic day of the year, Feb. 14, by offering a little something to help those starting families in Australia.

According to the Examiner, any baby born exactly nine months after the recent Valentine's Day will receive a coupon for am IKEA crib valued at $99. Families will have to wait and see whether their babies will arrive on Nov. 14 to see if they are one of the lucky winners.

For those whose babies are born even a day earlier or later than the Nov. 14 date, they will miss out on the free promotional give away.

According to The Wall Street Journal, parents are able to get their hands on a new Snigler cot sold through the IKEA stores in Australia. Parents myst bring the promotional coupon from IKEA, as well as a birth certificate of their child to prove their birth date, to any IKEA Australia store to get their free crib.

The advertisement reads: "To celebrate Valentine's Day, IKEA is offering parents-to-be a free cot if your baby is born on November 14, 2013. Limit one cot per baby. Proof of birth must be provided. Voucher must be presented to redeem offer. Delivery not included."

Some have pointed out that the Swedish company has worded the ad so that those who have twins on that day will be able to collect two cribs - one for each - as long as they make sure they collect two of the IKEA coupons promoting the deal.

Some reports have suggested that although IKEA is only offering this special deal in Australia this year, if it proves successful they may unveil the promotion to other territories next year or in future years.
