LG Launches Rolly Keyboard 2 in South Korea, Comes With Five Rows of Keys

LG has officially unveiled its follow up for its portable and rollable Bluetooth keyboard. According to a report by Slash Gear, the tech giant introduced to the public the LG Rolly Keyboard 2 on Thursday, April 14 and it's deemed to be better and more convenient.

It's also considered to be a response to Apple's Smart Keyboard and Microsoft's Surface Type Cover, as noted in Ubergizmo. And though it's not yet very popular to many, it's no surprise that the product gets a successor due to its major design win last year. MS Power User also reported that the LG Rolly Keyboard 2 is bigger in size as it now feature a fifth row of dedicated number keys and special functions. There's also a vertical support now to hold up to three devices in place and to help roll and unroll the keyboard. The first model could only accommodate two devices.

But unlike the original model, the updated version now rolls up into a pentagon instead of into a rectangular although, that doesn't make much of a difference. Giving the wireless keyboard power is a single AAA battery, which means that owners can just replace it with a new one once it runs out. The company claims that it can last up at least 3.5 months or so.

The Rolly Keyboard 2 works via Bluetooth connection so it can theoretically work with any tablet, phablet, phone or notebook just as long it has a Bluetooth connection. It can work with Android, iOS, Windows and Mac devices. Its overall measurements is 274 x 31.7 x 30.7 mm and it weighs 161 grams including the battery.

As of the moment, Android Headlines noted that the new portable keyboard has been announced for the South Korean market only. It is still to be known if it will be making its way out to international markets just like the original one which was released in Europe, Asia, Latin America and U.S. in Q4 2014. The LG Rolly Keyboard 2 is sold for 129,000 KRW or $112.
