Oppo R7s News: Upcoming Smartphone Unveiling In Four Days

News has emerged the Oppo R7s is set to be unveiled at a launch event at the GITEX in Dubai this coming Sunday.

Chinese electronics manufacturer Oppo will be holding a special world premiere event at the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition in Dubai from October 18 to 22, where it is gearing to reveal its latest device, the Oppo R7s.

The R7s is reported to be an improvement from its predecessors, the R7, R7 Plus, R7 Lite, and Mirror 5, with its larger 5.5-inch 1080p Full HD AMOLED touchscreen display and larger storage capacity. The handset will be supported by 3GB of RAM, with another 4GB option, and 32GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD.

Running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop when it ships, the Oppo R7s will feature a 13MP rear camera and a 8MP front snapper. It will also be powered by a large 4,100mAh battery.

The smartphone, which passed its TENAA certification last month, carrying the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC, and coming in dimensions of 151.8mm x 75.4mm x 6.7mm, with a 200g weight.

While there are rumors that another iteration of the device with the 4GB of RAM will be made available, Oppo has yet to release confirmation of the news and is instead preparing for its launch event where it will be showcasing its partnership with football club FC Barcelona, as well as advertising all its other current devices out in the market today.

Oppo was originally an MP3 player, portable media player and LCD TV manufacturer. The company first entered the smartphone market four years ago and released the world's thinnest mobile phone in November 2014, the Oppo R5, measuring only 4.85mm thick and which began shipping in February 2015. The record has since been broken by the Vivo X5 Max with its 4.75mm thick smartphone.
