Samsung Galaxy S6 Specs: 128GB Edition Gets Discontinued In India?

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge are two of the most powerful smartphones in the market today, and the Korean manufacturer has already sold millions of the two flagship units. Samsung made sure that the two Galaxy S6 phones can cater to different storage needs for its consumers, which paved way to an option for 32GB, 64GB, and even 128GB of built-in memory.

Unfortunately, it seems like the 128GB edition of the two flagship smartphones has been discontinued in India.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the highest storage option for both the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge is missing from the options to choose from in Samsung's official website in India.

In comparison, the 128GB version of both phones are still in stock and available for purchase in other Samsung websites, such as the UK, Canada, Singapore and Australia.

While there is a possibility that the phone is out of stock, it is highly unlikely due to the high price tag of both smartphones. In the report, the Samsung Galaxy S6 128GB edition was priced at INR 61,900 or about $970 while the Galaxy S6 Edge is even more expensive at INR 70,900 or around $1110.

Samsung is among the top smartphone vendors in India, another market that loves to buy Android phones. However, the Korean-based manufacturer has other local brand rivals like Karbonn and Micromax, Chinese companies such as Xiaomi, ZTE, Oppo and OnePlus, and its Korean neighbour LG electronics.

The 128GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 flagships may not be necessary for most consumers in the country.
