'The Man in The High Castle' Season 2 Release Date, Spoilers & Updates: Hit Amazon Series to Return This December With 'Incredibly Expansive' & Impossible to Predict Plot

The sophomore season of "The Man in the High Castle" is officially set to premiere this December. The Season 2 of the hit Amazon web television series promises bigger cast, expanded setting and unpredictable plot.

According to Vulture, Amazon unveiled at the press tour of Television Critics Association last Sunday that "The Man in the High Castle" Season 2 will debut on Dec. 16, 2016 on Prime Video. The release date of the 10-episode season of the popular dystopian alternative history drama will push through despite the departure of the show's creator, Frank Spotnitz, who opted out of the production because of creative differences.

David Zucker, executive producer of the Amazon original series, told USA Today that nothing has changed despite the absence of Spotnitz in the production of the second season. Zucker did not elaborate the plot details of the new season, however, he teased that the upcoming 10 episodes will be "incredibly expansive," with a storyline that is impossible to predict.

Co-producer Isa Hackett also confirmed early reports that the second season of the drama series will unveil the identity of "The Man in the High Castle." Hackett stated that the titular character that boggled viewers during the show's first season will finally be introduced.

EW reported that Amazon has spilled several juicy details about the second season of "The Man in The High Castle" during the press tour.

The drama's sophomore season will feature Juliana Crain (Alexa Davalos) dealing with the consequences of betraying the Resistance and seeking asylum with the Nazis. Joe Blake (Luke Kleintank) will find himself in Berlin, meeting a new love interest and facing his estranged father.

Moreover, Frank Frink (Rupert Evans) will become more radicalized after watching his own execution in the mysterious movies. John Smith (Rufus Sewell), on the other hand, will struggle to resolve the values of the Reich while protecting his seriously ill son.

The new season will also unveil what happened to Tagomi (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) after the Season 1 finale. According to Amazon, Tagomi will make a surprising discovery about the connections between the two worlds in the series.

Christian Post reported in July that American actor Tate Donovan will be introduced as the titular character in the sophomore season of the hit drama series. Donovan will take the role of George Dixon, the mysterious person who has ties with Juliana's past.
