Ohio Christian University continues its aim to equip pastors and missionaries, even though it has expanded its programming and enrollment. There are currently 4000 students at OCU, of which 500 are residential undergraduates. Classes are available online, on-campus or in hybrid formats at any of the 18 separate extension sites.  

Ohio Christian University offers 59 full-online study tracks: 14 certificates, 8 associate degrees, 26 bachelor degrees, and 11 graduate degrees. There are currently no doctoral degrees online. The student faculty ratio is 10:1.

Cost: Courses start at $198 per credit hour and average at $525 per credit hour for graduate-level courses. A military discount is offered to current and former military of $250 per credit hour. La Mirada, California

Biola University is one of the more prestigious Christian colleges, but it does not have full degree programs online. All of Biola’s programs require a residency component, as required by California state law, so for most courses, this means 1-week summer residency with 5 week self-directed online study.

There are 26 study tracks at Biola and is an excellent choice for educators, pastors and missionaries. Its MA in Apologetics is renowned.

However, it is not have the convenience of fully online programs and only has two enrollment periods per year. But if you plan on a hybrid model of online and on-campus study, Biola has the prestige among Christian and academic standings.

Cost: Most courses at Biola University are $592 per credit hour, with the doctoral courses at $1097 per credit hour. An undergraduate tuition at Biola can cost $38,448 per year, which is 39% more expensive than the national average private non-profit four year college tuition.

Boiling Springs, North Carolina

Gardner-Webb University offers 80 undergraduate and graduate majors to nearly 4,000 students, and is ranked in the top 2 percent of college nationwide for its core curriculum. Its top 3 programs include education, business and nursing.

Online programs mirror on-campus schedules, but feature anytime access to the lecture archive. A “Goal-Degree Completion Program” is an option where up to 60 credit hours can be earned online towards an undergraduate degree. Classes are small at 13:1 student-teacher ratio.

Cost: Courses start at $422 per credit hour and go up to $525 per credit hour for MBA and $725 for the accelerated BS nursing courses. An undergraduate tuition at Gardner-Webb can cost $30,310 per year, which is 9% more expensive than the national average private non-profit four year college tuition.

Indiana Wesleyan University is an award-winning Christian college, enrolling nearly 14,000 students and offering 90 online degree programs with options to do 100% online, hybrid or on-campus learning at education centers in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio.

IWU offers small class sizes, a student-teacher ratio of 14:1, and rolling admissions, meaning there’s no admissions deadline. Several online bachelor degree programs are available, covering the subjects of Business, Communication, Computer Science, Counseling, Criminal Justice, Education, Liberal Arts, Nursing, Psychology and Social Work, and Theology and Ministry.

Charleston Southern University enrolls 3,650 students and features a nationally recognized online MBA program. There are 7 online bachelor's programs and 10 online master's degrees including their acclaimed MBA program, as well as nursing, and education degrees. CSU also features online degrees tracks in computer technology, analytics, and criminal justice.

Programs range, by department, between fully-online and hybrid style.

Cost: Courses are $490 a credit hour (undergraduate) and $500-625 (graduate). An undergraduate tuition at Charleston Southern University can cost $24,800 per year, which is 11% cheaper than the national average private non-profit four year college tuition.
