Group: More Americans Killed by Abortion Than by Terrorists on 9/11

September 10, 2011|10:52 am

More Americans were killed by abortions on 9/11 than by terrorists, according to data compiled by a pro-life group.

About 3,000 people died after two planes crashed into the World Trade Center buildings on Sept. 11, 2001. The same day, nearly 3,200 babies were aborted, according to statistics collected by Created Equal.

The pro-life group says that while 9/11 was only one day in which 3,000 out of the 50,000 workers in the World Trade Center were killed, abortion takes the lives of more than 3,000 people every single day.

Roughly one-third of all fetuses are slain in the womb in the United States daily, the statistics show.

Created Equal has launched “The Great Transfer” initiative, which is aimed primarily at the nation’s youth to curb the amount of abortions performed.

“The only way to end the killing in abortion is to transfer faith and beliefs and sanctity of life to the next generation,” Mark Harrington, executive director of Created Equal, told The Christian Post.

The Great Transfer initiative is based on the biblical passage 2 Timothy 2:2 in which the apostle Paul instructs Timothy, “The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”

The initiative is a “passing of the torch” for the war to end abortion in America by using the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Harrington said.

Created Equal’s mission is to defend the rights of the “preborn” – humans whom they believe suffer from “age-based discrimination.”

CP previously reported on Created Equal and how the organization equips high school and college students to use visuals to spark up abortion debates on their campuses through its training program.

Created Equal is also encouraging students to film their debates and discussions and stream them through their personal social networking websites in hopes of exposing the lies of abortion advocates.

Harrington believes that by targeting youth, the organization can effectively gain ground in the war on abortion, since young people are the most abortion-prone in the nation.

“We’ve got to raise up a new movement of young people ready to fight the good fight,” Harrington said.
