Americans are becoming increasingly divided along political lines, but a recently released study has found that we agree on a lot more than we think we do.

The study, conducted by the group More in Common, found that Americans largely misunderstand their political opponents. It also found that higher education and the news Americans’ consume can increase misperceptions certain groups have of others.

—NIV Bible translator says differences in Bible versions won't change how you practice your faith

Douglas J. Moo, a professor of Biblical Studies at Wheaton College in Illinois who worked on the controversial 2011 edition of the New International Version Bible, says there is a “vast bulk of agreement” between the many different English versions of the Bible.

Moo told Darrell Bock of Dallas Theological Seminary in an episode of “The Table” podcast on YouTube: “You’re not going to make any change to what you believe as a Christian or how you practice as Christian based on the English in the English Bible you’re using.”

— ‘The Family’ director defends portrayal of Christian group: ‘Good faith’ project, ‘diverse’ views

The director of a Netflix documentary series about the evangelical organization that founded the National Prayer Breakfast rejects critics' accusations that his work unfairly maligns Christians.

The five-part documentary series “The Family” looks at the history of a Christian group commonly known as “the Family” or “The Fellowship.”

Jesse Moss, director and producer of “The Family,” told The Christian Pos said he does not believe the documentary is biased, and said the series presented "a diverse set of views" and was done "in good faith.”

Headed by influential evangelist Doug Coe until his death in 2017, the Family oversees multiple ministries, most notably private small group Bible studies among members of Congress, meetings with world leaders in Washington, D.C., and the annual National Prayer Breakfast.

In a statement responding to the Netflix series, The Fellowship said: “Though the Netflix docudrama series mischaracterizes the work of the Fellowship and attempts to portray people of faith in a bad light, we are encouraged by how often viewers are introduced to, and challenged by, the person and principles of Jesus, which are at the core of our mission and message.”
