2. Obama Versus Nuns

The Obama administration dealt with numerous lawsuits over its Health and Human Services preventive services mandate, many of which resulted in losses for the government.

Of the many cases, one that gave the administration a lot of negative press was its effort to force a small Catholic order known as the Little Sisters of the Poor to comply with providing abortion pills and contraception coverage.

The litigation made it all the way to the United States Supreme Court, which in May 2016 sent the Little Sisters' case back to the lower court, vacating an earlier decision against the nuns.
