8. Rep. Andre Carson, D-Ind.

After Rep. Julia Carson, D-Ind., died of lung cancer in 2007 at 69, her grandson Andre won a 2008 special election to finish her term.

Andre Carson then won a full term that same year. He has been reelected ever since and still represents Indiana's 7th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
