The stimulus package is expected to give out a cash payment to U.S. adults, which will vary on the basis of marital status and current reported income.

They will include up to $1,200 for individuals and $2,400 for married couples with $500 per child. The payment is reduced if an individual makes over $75,000 or if a couple makes over $150,000, according to CNBC.

Also included is an additional $600 per week to whatever amount a worker would normally get if they lose their job due to the coronavirus.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer praised the measure, calling it “unemployment insurance on steroids.”

“This is a great plan. What it says is if you lose your job in this crisis, you can be furloughed by your employer,” stated Schumer, as reported by HuffPost.
