3. Evangelical preacher Lance Wallnau

Lance Wallnau, a Dallas-based Evangelical author and speaker, went viral last year after he referred to Trump as “anointed” and invoked a passage from the book of Isaiah to describe the then-former president.

"Thus says the Lord to Cyrus, whom I've anointed," Wallnau said at a TPUSA Faith event in October 2024. “Donald Trump has an anointing upon him. The hand of God is on him. Oh, I know a bunch of people say, 'Well, how can you say that? He does this and he does that.' Cyrus wasn't even a Jew. He was a Persian."

Wallnau, who predicted Donald Trump would become president prior to his election in 2016, has repeatedly used the Cyrus comparison since Trump’s first term.
