2. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu

During a 2018 visit to the White House, Netanyahu congratulated Trump on his historic proclamation of Jerusalem as the official capital of Israel and compared the U.S. president to a number of key figures in Israeli history, including Cyrus the Great.

“I want to tell you that the Jewish people have a long memory,” said Netanyahu on March 5, 2018. “So we remember the proclamation of the great King Cyrus the Great — Persian King. Twenty-five hundred years ago, he proclaimed that the Jewish exiles in Babylon can come back and rebuild our temple in Jerusalem. ...

“ ... And we remember how a few weeks ago, President Donald J. Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Mr. President, this will be remembered by our people throughout the ages,” he added.

In addition to Cyrus, the Israeli PM also compared Trump to British Lord Balfour, who issued the formal proclamation recognizing the homeland of the Jewish people, and President Harry Truman, the first U.S. president to recognize the state of Israel.
