5 church leaders react to Shedeur Sanders’ NFL draft controversy

2. Pastor Jamal Bryant of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia
"Do you know how many people are investing in your breakdown?" Bryant asked his congregation during his sermon on Sunday. "They want to see what it's going to take for you to lose your mind. For you to give up your faith, for you to walk up from God, for you to wave the white flag. They cannot believe that after all that you have endured, you still won't sell out your commitment to God.
"I cannot tell you how proud I was of Shedeur Sanders after he was not drafted in the first round. He said, 'I still trust God.' And there's some of you got to have that same level of resolve," Bryant added. "Things didn't go my way the first time around. … Things did not line up as I anticipated, but I still trust God."
