Even though he wasn't preaching his church's sermon on Sunday, Pastor Rich, who described himself as a former student-athlete, told his congregation at the pulpit how he was triggered by how Sanders' stock fell precipitously in the 2025 NFL draft.

"For three days, we watched collusion," he said, accusing the owners of the NFL teams of colluding to diminish Sanders' prospects. "Collusion is when organizations cooperatively get together to say, 'No, don't hire him. No, don't hire him. No, don't hire him. No, don't hire him. ... You've been blackballed."

He then went on a diatribe against what he considered to be systemic racism in the NFL and society.
