5. Says he has ‘broken the grip of sinister woke radicals in our schools’ 

Throughout his remarks, Trump repeatedly brought up policies enacted or embraced by the Biden administration that have been characterized by conservative critics as “woke.” The president lamented that there were "men playing in women’s sports” and “transgender for everybody." He alleged that "radical" liberals have “indoctrinated your children with hate for America.”

“We have broken the grip of sinister woke radicals in our schools, and control over those schools is back now in the hands of our great and loving states, where education belongs," he said.

His remarks about sending education back to the states come amid his administration's efforts to scale back the U.S. Department of Education. The push to completely abolish the federal agency remains ongoing.
