Women pastors, immigration enforcement, antisemitism: 5 proposed SBC resolutions to watch

The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) is slated to hold its annual meeting in Orlando, Florida, next week and, as part of the proceedings, will consider several proposed resolutions.

Under SBC rules, a resolution is “an expression of opinion or concern, as compared to a motion, which calls for action” and “is not used to direct an entity of the Southern Baptist Convention to specific action other than to communicate the opinion or concern expressed.”

The recently released list of proposed resolutions touches on a variety of issues, from commemorating the Baptist contribution to religious liberty in the United States to responding to the recent rise in antisemitism.
