4. The International Justice Mission
The International Justice Mission, which works with local justice officials, community partners, advocates” and donors to end the practice of slavery worldwide, has promoted its Giving Tuesday campaign on Facebook.
On Friday, the organization announced that “this Tuesday, when you shop our Holiday Gift Catalog, every gift will be MATCHED up to $250,000!” In a subsequent Facebook post, IJM explained the impact of the gift matching, which it says will lead to “double the aftercare for a survivor of violence,” “double the rescue for people trapped in slavery,” and “double the supplies to help restore people in freedom.”
IJM’s Holiday Gift Catalog enables donors to purchase gift cards that they can then personalize for the recipient. The gift cards would pay for items such as school supplies, backpacks, books and school fees.
According to Charity Navigator, the International Justice Mission is a three-star charity, with a 100% score on the issue of accountability and transparency.
