6.  Save the Children

Save the Children, which works to “give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm,” has announced a triple match for all donations made on Giving Tuesday.

The charity organization contrasted Giving Tuesday with the “traditional days of spending” that follow Thanksgiving, namely Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Save the Children described Giving Tuesday as “an opportunity to donate — your time, your talent or your passion to transform your community.”

In addition to assisting children that fall victim to natural disasters, Save the Children works to address violence against children as well as the lack of access to education, healthcare and nutrition that many children experience.

The organization, which was founded more than 100 years ago, has a four-star rating from Charity Navigator.
