Metaxas attended the announcement in person, saying he watched the speech from the third row, thanks to MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell saving him a seat.

"When I think how this country has suffered these two years I get choked up thinking how good things were under Trump. MAGA!" tweeted Metaxas.

In a tweet posted shortly before the announcement commenting on a reported decline in abortion clinics in the United States, Metaxas touted Trump's role in the overturning of Roe v. Wade by appointing three of the Supreme Court justices who voted to overturn the 1973 decision this summer.

"Without Donald Trump's vigorously pushing for SCOTUS justices who KNEW Roe v. Wade was unconstitutional — and were willing to overturn it — we wouldn't be here," Metaxas tweeted.

"Many in the GOP talked a good game for years, but Trump saw it through. We are a better nation because of it."
