Matthew Cordle admits that he could have gotten away with murder. By just telling a few lies he could have lessened his sentences and probably walked away clean.

This 22-year-old was out with a few friends trying to having a good time, but alcohol got the best of him. Matthew made a decision to get in the car and drive. He hit and killed Vincent Canzani and no one knew. Instead of allowing depression get the best of him, and lawyers advising him that it was not in his best legal interest, Matthew made this very powerful confession.
