ADR Studios Creates iCam Concept for Upcoming iPhone 5

ADR studios recently created some concept pictures for the iCam, a feature that will turn the upcoming iPhone 5 into a point and shoot camera.

The late Apple CEO Steve Jobs originally set out to reinvent various industries including television, textbooks and photography, according to his official biography penned by Walter Isaacson.

This iCam concept could possibly be something Jobs might have tried to change the landscape of photography.

Judging from the pictures created by ADR studio, iCam appears to be physical accessory that literally will turn the iPhone 5 into a regular camera equipped with a professional lens and all.

ADR’s proposed specifications for the iCam include a 10.1-megapixel sensor and provide an “ISO range from 100 to 3200 for full HD at 60fps.

More specifications for the iCam also add an aluminum unibody, interchangeable lenses, small touch-screen on the front, LED flash, pico-projector, SD UHS-i slot, motion sensor and Bluetooth.

In the illustrations for the iCam accessory, the device is used to project video onto a blank wall.

Apple seems to be focusing much of its energy towards the photography department.

The iPhone 4S camera proved to be quite impressive upon the smartphone’s release gaining an endorsement from professional photographer Annie Leibovitz.

The device’s rear shooter is 8-megapixels and features a custom redesigned lens.

The iPhone 4S’s camera rivals most point and shooters that are currently on the market and takes better photographs than any Android device with a camera possessing the same specifications.

It also can film video in 1080p HD for clear quality.

The iCam seems like an accessory that would eliminate the camera market making the photographing experience exclusive to smartphones.

It is likely that some technology companies will take a hint from this concept and begin creating their own accessory similar to the iCam.
