Android 4.0.5, Ice Cream Sandwich Update Coming to Samsung Nexus S

Google is planning to release another Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for the Samsung Nexus S in India.

The company is working on Android 4.0.5 Ice Cream Sandwich for the Nexus S since the original upgrade Android 4.0.3 received several complaints, according to TheMobileIndian.com.

Some of the issues with the first update included fast battery drainage along with heavy processor use. Google initially issued this upgrade in mid-Dec. and froze it once the complaints began rolling in.

This new update is said to be improving the battery life on the device and will change the Android Market into the Google Play store. The original flawed update could be the reason why Google has taken so long to issue the update to other popular devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S2.

There is no word on the release date for the new Nexus S ICS update for residents of India.

The first official Ice Cream Sandwich updates for the Samsung Galaxy S2 began to roll out this week in various parts of Europe. There is still no word on when the update will make its way to the U.S.

The fact that customers in India are receiving a better quality version of the software shows that when it finally does arrive to the states, it should be perfected and work efficiently with most of Samsung's hot devices.

Ice Cream Sandwich debuted back in Nov. of last year with the release of the flagship smartphone the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The Wi-Fi version of the Motorola Xoom has received an ICS upgrade in the U.S. Applications on the device are found to run more smoothly with the software along with the graphics looking significantly better.

ICS is rumored to be followed by Android 5.0, Jellybean that should debut sometime next year.
