'Aquaman' News: Another Writer Joins the Team

The upcoming solo adventure film for "Aquaman" is expected to hit the big screens in a couple of year now that they have added another screenwriter and director to their team.

James Wan will be taking on the director's seat for the first live action movie of "Aquaman." With that, it was also revealed that David Leslie Johnson will join the group of writers for the upcoming film. Johnson has worked on other projects such as "Wrath of the Titans" and "Orphan." According to The Hollywood Reporter, Johnson was tapped by Warner Bro. Studios after his involvement with "Wrath of the Titans" and "Red Riding Hood."

Previous reports stated that the film already has several other screenwriters already involved. Will Beall, from "Gangster Squad" and Kurt Johnstad from the "300" movies are already working on the project. However, the two of them were assigned to write separate scripts that will be merged into one screenplay. With that, there has been no news on how Johnson will be involved in the script writing process.

Fans are wondering about how the story will go, with Jason Momoa as the iconic character, Aquaman. The DC Comics was created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger. The history of the character depicts him as the heir to the throne of Atlantis. He is the child of a woman from Atlantean, but his father was human. Because of that, he is able to live underwater as well as on dry land. His powers include super strength and telepathic communication.

Nevertheless, there is much anticipation to see the character come to life on the big screen. With the upcoming projects for the DC Comics, it can be expected that the upcoming character will be a key role in expanding the DC Cinematic Universe.

"Aquaman" is expected to debut in theaters July 27, 2018.
