'Assassin's Creed: Origins' Release Date, Latest News: Ubisoft Announces Minimum and Recommended PC Specs to Run Game

With "Assassin's Creed: Origins" releasing in a few days, Ubisoft revealed some key details that players who are looking to enjoy the game via PC should take note of.

In a post on the official Ubisoft blog site, the game developer listed down the official system requirements and specs for PC users. Ubisoft also explained the value of optimizing the PC version in terms of making it accessible to more players.

"The PC platform overall is really important to us," explained Jose Araiza, "Assassin's Creed: Origins" coordinating producer. "That is why the PC version was developed in parallel with all the other versions by the main team in Montreal, in collaboration with our PC-dedicated team in Ubisoft Kiev," he added.

Araiza explained that the approach was taken during the time when the game features were still being designed. This made the "PC and mouse-and-keyboard controls a full part of the equation from the get-go."

As for the game's minimum system requirements, PCs must have an operating system (OS) of any of the following: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10, all 64-bit versions. The processor, on the other hand, can be Intel Core i5-2400s @ 2.5 GHz or AMD FX-6350 @ 3.9 GHz or any equivalent.

The PCs should also have an Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 or AMD R9 270 (2048 MB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0 or better) for the video card while the RAM should be at 6 GB. Also required are a resolution of 720p and a video preset at the lowest setting.

For gamers who are looking for the optimum experience, Ubisoft also listed the recommended system requirements. The OS remains the same as that of the minimum required, but the processor should be an Intel Core i7- 3770 @ 3.5 GHz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz. The video card requirements are now Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 or AMD R9 280X (3 GB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0 or better) while the RAM is pegged at 8 GB.

The resolution requirement is at 1080p while the video preset is set at high.

Meanwhile, CinemaBlend reported that unlike the other "Assassin's Creed" games in the past, "Origins" will be released on all platforms, including the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 at the same time on Oct. 27.
