Battlefield Hardline Delayed Release Explained, News, Details: It 'Was the Right Call,' Says Studio Head

With the promise to deliver a "complete first person shooter experience," Visceral Games General Manager and executive producer Steve Papoutsis revealed that the initiative to push back the release date of their upcoming title "Battlefield Hardline" was "the right call."

Papoutsis released an open letter to fans published in the game's official update website.

The executive producer said that Hardline was up for release on Oct.21 last year but had to be held off until March 17 after some issues were pointed out in the early beta's feedback.

"There's no doubt moving the game back was the right call. The improvements the team has added to the game with the extra time are making Battlefield Hardline the complete first person shooter experience we set out to deliver," Papoutsis wrote.

"There's a great story for fans of single player. Exciting new MP modes, vehicles, gadgets and weapons that add a new dimension of speed to Battlefield. All while still staying true to the thing that most sets Battlefield apart – a focus on teamplay and strategy," the studio's head went on to say.

Papoutsis' official announcement also invited fans to check on the site from time to time for more updates on the changes implemented on Hardline.

Papoutsis even went to his social media to interact with fans and answer some important questions.

The upcoming game will see the launching of 51 weapons, 28 gadgets, 27 new vehicles, nine maps, and seven modes, Gamespot reported. Battlefield Hardline is not an open-world game.
