Blah Blah Blah Day: An Impetus to Get Things Done (or Not)

Yes, today is officially "Blah, Blah, Blah Day," a time for people to get off their duffs and do all those things they are often nagged about. According to Wellcat.com, which has copyrighted the holiday, today is a day to "quit smoking, get a real job, lose weight, gain weight, and take out the trash!"

People are looking forward to getting those things done in order to stop the nagging. Blogger Michael Christelman has written a special article on the holiday.

"I guess we are supposed to make our lists of undoneables (sic) and turn them all into doneables (sic) so that we can avoid being the recipients of blah, blah, blahings (sic). So now I am left having made a big deal out of a holiday I don't plan on celebrating," he writes on his blog The Wonderful World of Nothing Worthwhile.

"Happy Blah, Blah, Blah Day!" tweeted Roberto Sarjoo. "Do this, do that, don't forget to…blah, blah, blah! Today is the day to take care of all those things people have been nagging you about. Either that, or today is the day to remind everyone of all the things they need to be doing," he added.

Others have described exactly what they will be doing in order to stop all the blah, blah, blah comments from friends and family. "Today is the day I get everything sorted," tweeted Alex Reeks. "Emailing people, applying for apprenticeships, cleaning, blah, blah, blah. Early night, then college!"

"Today is Blah, Blah, Blah Day-a day to do everything everyone's been nagging you about," The Caldwell County News has reported. "Clean your room, take out the trash, go to the gym, do the laundry…and don't forget to pay your taxes."

Companies are also using the holiday to encourage consumers to use their products in order to stop procrastinating and check things off their "to do" lists.

"It's Blah, Blah, Blah Day-an ice-cold Coke makes whatever you've been putting off a little easier," tweeted Coca-Cola Canada.

So what are you planning to do, or not do, for the holiday? Whatever it is, don't forget to turn in your taxes!
