Blogger Gets $250,000 Bonus to Stay With Mashable, Gets Fired Next Day

A blogger has received a massive $250,000 bonus only to be fired by a new editor the next day.

Ben Parr, who was a blogger for famous tech blog Mashable, was the original blogger for “Students Against Facebook News Feed” at Northwestern University. The blog had grown to be very popular and had amassed 284,000 readers.

Upon graduating, Parr found a job with Mashable and had been working with the tech blog for three years, up until his recent dismissal.

According to Business Insider, Parr was a “critical... brand on the site.” His three-year career with Mashable was to be extended until at least July next year as a condition of his staggering bonus.

However, when a new editor took over he was suddenly fired in a move that has stunned many onlookers considering his massive recently given bonus.

Parr wrote: “I’m exploring options in... the entertainment world.”
