'Bones' Season 11: The Puppeteer Creates Chaos to Brennan and the Team; Puppeteer's Identity Now Known?
In Thursday night's Bones Season 11 finale, the Smithsonian team chased down The Puppeteer and found out who was behind all the chaos or did they? If the show's fans wanted a great finale for the penultimate season, last night was certainly it. Chances are, they didn't expect to see who was at least behind Brennan's kidnapping.
In the final moments of the episode, Zach Addy (Eric Millegan) was revealed to be Brennan's (Emily Deschanel) kidnapper. Zach is a former member of the team who was framed for the murder of a lobbyist back in the show's fifth season. He was sent to a mental institution.
As last night's big reveal showed however, Zach somehow managed to escape the psych ward and has taken his former boss. If he is not the Puppeteer himself, it is safe to say that he at least has ties with him.
The Puppeteer has brought tormenting nightmares to Brennan for weeks and she is actually in the verge of a massive panic. She sought the help of a psychologist whom Booth (David Boreanaz) later suspected was actually their murderer.
Booth asked the team to profile the psychologist and to come up with a possible motive for targeting Brennan, of all people. However, when Brennan was taken while the psychologist was in FBI custody, it was revealed that he was not who they were looking for.
Prior to the season finale's airing, Fox already teased that a former character was coming back. As the episode progressed, all the clues being uncovered were all pointing to Zack. When he was shown waking up Brennan in the last part, it appeared to be the start of Brennan's new nightmare.
FOX has announced that next season will be the last for Bones. It is expected to premiere in early 2017. That means that there is a minimum of six months of waiting to find out if Zack is indeed the Puppeteer. If he is not, fans will still have to wait to know why he kidnapped Brennan. What will the Smithsonian team do with this unexpected enemy? Zack certainly is a formidable threat because he knows the team so well.
Although the show's leads, Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz had contracts until Season 11 only, they agreed to be back for Season 12. Boreanaz for one has expressed his appreciation that the show is getting the ending it deserves. With the last season finale's cliffhanger, it certainly appears that Season 12 will be unforgettable send-off.
