6. Flynn’s daughter calls on her father to confess to murder: ‘I don’t plan on coming to see you’

Flynn’s mother-in-law Jill Smith read aloud a letter from his other daughter, Alyssa. Alyssa Flynn told her father “I love you deeply with all my heart and it’s sad that you can’t love anyone but yourself.” She also encouraged her father to confess to murdering his wife: “The least you could do is tell everyone you did it and receive your outcome. Also, please repent to God, the one who created you.”

“How could you stand in that church and sing about how much you love God when you knew all the secrets you had inside and watch your girls cheering you on?” the grieving daughter asked. “You made me feel like an idiot thinking that I could trust you but God has been working through me and I have changed.”

After proclaiming that “Our family has never been stronger” and predicting that “God is going to work something out for good,” Alyssa Flynn informed her father “I don’t plan on coming to see you.”

After Jill Smith finished reading the letter, her husband Todd remarked that “God cannot be mocked.” He echoed the rhetoric of his surviving daughter by telling his son-in-law “We forgive you for taking Ashley’s life and also for what you have done for all of us.”

At the same time, he demanded “absolute justice for Ashley,” requesting that Pratt “sentence him to the fullest extent of the law” because of “the violent nature of her murder, compounded by a lack of responsibility, confession or remorse.”
