Cee Lo Green Rants About Rape Case on Twitter; Deletes Account

Artist Cee Lo Green deleted his Twitter account after reportedly making controversial comments about rape, then thanking God for "exoneration, fairness, and freedom" and asking for the public's forgiveness.

"@Twinklecrepe @dELYSEious @RaavynnDigital if someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously! so WITH implies consent. When someone [breaks] in a home there is broken glass where is your plausible proof anyone was raped," the rapper tweeted.

Green was in court the day before to plead "no contest" to slipping a woman ecstasy without her consent in 2012. The woman previously told authorities that she woke up in the performer's bed and was unable to remember what happened the night before. Green's lawyer told the court that the two had had "consensual relations." He has not been charged with any type of assault or abuse in the case.

"@Twinklecrepe @RaavynnDigital @dELYSEious don't be dismissive now engage me for the truth! You can't just say regardless in a court of law. So if I TRIED but did NOT succeed but the person said I DID then what really happened?" Green asked.

Another follower captured screenshots of all of Green's tweets, along with the following: "Women who have really been raped REMEMBER!!"

He immediately responded by apologizing for his tweets and thanking God for justice before deleting his account entirely.

"Let me 1st praise god for exoneration fairness & freedom! Secondly I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context. I only intended on a healthy exchange to help heal those who love me from the pain I had already caused from this. Please forgive me as it … was your support that got me thru this to begin with. I'd never condone the harm of any women. Thank you," he tweeted at 1:28 a.m. before deleting the account.

The former "Voice" judge was sentenced to three years of formal probation and 45 days of community service, and he will be allowed to travel for work and see a private physician for drug and alcohol counseling.
