Charlie's Angels 2011 ABC Premiere Excites Viewers

On prime time television Thursday night ABC will premiere their new action series “Charlie’s Angels.”

Starring Minka Kelly, Abby Sampson, Kate Prince, and John Bosley, the new series follows three reformed women who fight crime in an effort to earn wings.

Produced by Drew Barrymore, 70’s-rebooted “Charlie’s Angels” promises adventure and quality entertainment.

The premiere episode, entitled “Angel with a Broken Wing,” will feature the angels’ mission ending in the tragic death of Gloria, a member of the group. Charlie persuades the remaining angels to partner with Gloria’s childhood friend, Eve, a street racer with a mysterious past.

To promote the premiere, “Angel” actress Kelly appeared on both “Good Morning America” as well as on “Regis and Kelly” Thursday morning.

On remaking the classic series, Kelly said she does not feel pressure while speaking with the host on “Good Morning.”

“I just hope that this generation receives it as well as the previous one did,” of the 70’s television show that had starred Farrah Fawcett.

On her Twitter account Thursday, Kelly wrote, “I’m really excited to smile tonight watching Charlie’s Angels. “

In anticipation of the premiere, viewers have expressed their expectations on Twitter, including star on “Desperate Housewives” Eva Longoria, writing Thursday “The news Charlie’s Angels!”

Twitter users have expressed mixed opinions, some weary of the rebooted franchise, such as Scott writing, “they are seriously redoing Charlies Angels as a series?? Sigh…. So sad….”

“Really ABC another Charlies Angels ? Really are there no writers with any original script ideas in Hollywood anymore? Boooooo!” Wrote Olivia.

In contrast, Twitter user Kelly wrote, “I can’t wait for the charlies angels series to start!”

Natalie wrote, “One of the new charlies angels is black, and she’s pretty!”

“Charlie’s Angels” will air on ABC at 8 p.m. Thursday.
