President Joe Bidendescribed the shooting as “a family's worst nightmare,” “heartbreaking” and “sick.” Biden also commended Nashville police for responding to the shooting “within minutes.”
He called on Congress to pass the so-called assault weapons ban, adding: “We have to do more to stop gun violence. It’s ripping our communities apart, ripping the soul of this nation.”
“We have to do more to protect our schools so they’re not turned into prisons,” he said.
