Colin Powell Gets Cool Points for 60-Y-O Selfie; Says 'Eat Your Heart Out Ellen'

Former Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Colin L. Powell set the Internet abuzz Thursday when he posted a 60-year-old selfie to Facebook and told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres "eat your heart out."

"Throwback Thursday -- I was doing selfies 60 years before you Facebook folks. Eat your heart out Ellen!" bragged the general.

In just five hours the black and white selfie, which shows Powell standing in front of his bedroom mirror, was shared more than 14,000 times and liked nearly 58,000 times.

One fan, Mark Fleming, reacted to the selfie by encouraging Powell to run for President in 2016.

"Can you please run for President in 2016? You'd hold my vote," he said on Facebook.
