CP World Report: Anti-Muslim Film; Jesus' Wife Controversy; Youcef Nadarkhani

An actress who appears in the anti-Muslim film trailer that's been blamed for causing riots in the Middle East wants a judge to order YouTube to take down the clip. Attorneys for Cindy Lee Garcia have sought an injunction in an LA court… against the 14-minute trailer . On Wednesday Garcia filed a lawsuit against the filmmaker for fraud and slander, claiming she was duped by Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, the man behind the film…."Innocence of Muslims". He went into hiding . Garcia said she was unaware of the film's anti-Muslim content, and discusses the personal toll.

As the 18-month-long Syrian conflict festers, the government and the opposition welcome and need Christian support. But many Christians are fearing radical Islamists who are prominent in the rebel ranks.They also fear the same fate as Christians during the war in Iraq, where militants targeted them and forced many to leave the country. CNN's Nic Robertson spoke with some Christians in Damascus. Among them, Maria Saadeh, a newly elected Christian MP.

Australia has overwhelmingly chosen to preserve the traditional definition of marriage. The House of Representatives voted 98-42 against legislation that sought to amend the definition to include same-sex couples. Cardinal George Pell of Sydney, along with other notable Christian leaders of Australia, affirmed their commitment to promote and protect marriage ahead of the vote. Those in support of same-sex marriage said that there is strong support among Australians for gay marriage and they hope that eventually the laws will reflect that sentiment. A separate bill on gay marriage is also to be debated in the Senate and that vote is expected to come in next week.

Freed Iranian pastor Youcef Nadarkhani has issued a letter thanking his supporters globally. The letter comes after his release from a three-year jail term on apostasy charges. He also continuously faced the threat of execution, yet he refused to renounce his faith. Nadarkhani wrote in his moving letter that he has been put to the test of faith which he says…is "more precious than perishable gold" . He said he never felt lonely or isolated in his battle but felt the energy and support of those who fought for justice and human rights. The American Center for Law and Justice, which was heavily involved in Nadarkhani's trial, told our partner The Christian Post that Nadarkhani's story is an example of how the world can join together to ensure that justice is served and freedom preserved.

Canada has a rich tradition of comic book artists. Superman was co-created by Canadian born illustrator Joe Shuster in 1938. The Joe Shuster Awards recognize the best comic book art in the country. This year, the prize for the best children's book went to Quebec artist Paul Roux.
