The video premiere of Crowder's new song "Come As You Are" is sweeping the internet on Tuesday.

Crowder, formerly of The David Crowder*Band, is featured in the new video with just his guitar and backup musicians on the acoustic worship song. Explaining the significance of "Come As You Are," Crowder told The Christian Post that the track brings listeners closer to God.

"What I love about 'Come As You Are' is that it makes room for all of us," the singer revealed. "It feels like it throws the doors wide open."

Furthermore, Crowder revealed more about his first solo album, "Neon Steeple," which hit shelves last May.

"When you talk about invitations, an invite into something bigger and grander than what you know and experience, 'Come As You Are' feels like one that throws the door really wide," he explained. "I think it's an anchor and hinge for the whole new record 'Neon Steeple.'"

The lyrics to "Come As You Are" are as follows: "Come out of sadness from wherever you've been/ Come, broken-hearted let rescue begin/ Come find your mercy, O sinner come kneel/ Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can't heal," Crowder sings in the "Come As You Are" video.

"Lay down your burdens/ Lay down your shame/ All who are broken / Lift up your face," he continues during the chorus.

Meanwhile, "Come As You Are" is Crowder's first solo single since "I Am," which rose to the number-one position on the Christian Songs chart last year. After serving as the lead vocalist for the David Crowder Band which disbanded in 2012, Crowder has embarked on a solo career on the dual label sixstepsrecords and Sparrow Records.
