Danica McKellar Photos From Avril Lavigne Video Surprise Fans
Danica McKellar, best known as her role as the beloved Winnie Cooper on "The Wonder Years," is now the star in Avril Lavgine's new music video.
After landing the leading role on the hit ABC show at the age of 13, McKellar underwent the transition from child actor to adult, admitting that the process was "a little bumpy."
Today, the 38-year-old actress is a still surprising her "Wonder Years" fans.
McKellar appeared on the set of Lavigne's video for "Rock and Roll" wearing heavy eye makeup, a crop top, and fishnet stockings paired with high heel shoes, according to the Daily Mail.
The actress' revealing look in the music video was a far cry from the character she portrayed on "The Wonder Years" during the 1980s and 1990s.
Sharing the actress' new look, Lavigne shared a photo from the music video set.
"My partner in crime @danicamckellar on the set today of my video for #rocknroll," the singer tweeted.
McKellar portrayed Winnie on "The Wonder Years" from 1988 to 1993.
Interestingly, Jimmy Fallon and his wife Nancy recently welcomed a baby girl whose name may have been inspired by McKellar's role on "The Wonder Years"-- Winnie Rose Fallon was born in New York City on Tuesday, a rep for the "Late Night" show confirmed.
Lately, McKellar has become better known as an author rather than an actress. The child star went on to write New York Times bestselling books about math that are primarily targeted at adolescent readers.
"Math Doesn't Suck: How To Survive Middle School Math without Losing Your Mind or Breaking a Nail" was released in 2008, and three other books followed.
McKellar's latest book, "Girls Get Curves: Geometry Takes Shape," was released last year.
When it comes to her personal life, McKellar has also made some changes. The bestselling author just finalized her divorce from her husband of four years Mike Verta. The couple share 3-year-old son Draco.
When she announced the split, McKellar thanked fans for their support on Facebook.
"The end of a marriage has got to be one of the saddest events one can experience- I've heard that the pain is second only to an actual death in the family, and that sounds about right," posted the star.
McKellar noted that she and her ex-husband have remained amicable: "We are both totally in love with our little boy, and believe this is the best thing for him. Thank you again for all your support."
