'Darksiders II' Coming To PS4 and Xbox One October 27

The action role-playing hack and slash video game "Darksiders II" is coming to current generation consoles on October 27. The "Darksiders II" Deathinitive Edition will be released for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, according to game developer Nordic Games. A report in Polygon says that this special edition will be selling for $29.99 or €29.99.

"Darksiders II" was originally released in 2012 and was followed by several DLC packs which featured additional locations, weapons and armor. This "Deathinitive" Edition is a remastered version of the original game and includes all original DLC such as Maker Armor Set, The Abyssal Forge, The Demon Lord Belial, Death Rides, Angel of Death, Deadly Despair, Shadow of Death, Mortis Pack, Rusanov's Axe, Van Der Schmash Hammer, Fletcher's Crow Hammer, Mace Maximus and Argul's Tomb. This new edition is also said to be running on native 1080p, which is a much better resolution than that of the original version. These downloadable content ended up being integrated in the remastered edition, according to the game developers.

According to the game's design director, John Pearl, they "revisited every asset" of the game and worked on "increasing the texture resolutions" and bringing "the art up to spec to take full advantage of the new lighting and rendering." This meant that the new edition will look better than the original one. As far as bugs are concerned, the developer also addressed these based on feedback about the game since it was released. In another report in Game Spot, it said the new edition of the game will also bring with it changes in gameplay and the way loot is distributed in the game.

In the game, players will take control of Death, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. As players navigate through open world regions, they need to solve puzzles and think their way through them. Death's ultimate mission in the game is to prove his brother's (War) innocence and to "resurrect humanity."
