Destiny Release Date Revealed for Sept. 2014 on Multiple Platforms, Bungie Announces

Creator's of the famed Halo series, Bungie, will be releasing its newest epic game next September entitled "Destiny."

Coming September 9 2014, Bungie's newest sci-fi space quest was pushed back from its spring release in hopes of making the game perfect.

"We first shared the design pillars of Destiny less than one year ago," read a post on Bungie.net's community manager David Dague. "We promised to redefine what players should expect from a Bungie game. We said we wanted to change the way people play games together. We set our bar high. They continued in their announcement, "Since then, Destiny has continued to reveal its promise. Every new build brings us closer to our original vision. With those goals in sight, we intend to use every moment from now until the release of the game to ensure that Destiny lives up to your expectations, and our own."

Bungie teamed up with Activision to make this game, and according to their announcement they plan on putting out the BETA for next summer on the two Sony consoles. Also, the two just became part of a 10-year publishing deal with each other.

"The early support and enthusiasm for Destiny has been inspiring and humbling," wrote Dague. "We believe this is the right decision for our game, our studio, and our passionate community. Thank you for coming along with us on this adventure. See you starside."

This is the first title Bungie has worked on post Halo, and according to USA Today the game will be sort of like an online MMO with the choice to go about completing the game alone or with friends in what they are calling a, "shared world shooter."

Destiny will be available for the PS3 and 4, Xbox 360 and One.
