'Elegant Yokai Apartment Life' Episode 26 Spoilers: Yushi and Kotobuki-so Residents to Ponder About the Future in Upcoming Finale
Things are about to come full circle and return to where it all began on the 26th and final episode of the Japanese supernatural slice-of-life anime series, "Elegant Yokai Apartment Life."
The preview for the said episode aptly titled, "Elegant Yokai Apartment Life," has the series protagonist, Yushi, wondering what the future holds for them with his best friend, Hase, replying how it's not like him to think about such things.
Yushi's life at the Kotobuki-so began when he became a freshman at the Joutou Business High School. This was the school he chose to go to because being a student there also meant he got to stay at the school dormitory. But before the school year even began, the dormitory burned down, forcing Yushi to look for a place where he could stay in temporarily while the dormitory was being fixed.
The Kotobuki-so was the cheapest one he could find, and his life has since been changed.
Aside from having more friends, both alive and dead, he now also possesses a powerful book from which he can summon all sorts of equally powerful creatures to help aid his cause. Whether it be saving a teacher from being possessed by an Id spirit, or simply embellishing yet another teacher's mini-concert treat with special effects, Yushi has truly become the master of the Petit Heirozoicon.
But changes will inevitably come. After high school, he may again be forced to leave the place that has already become his home to venture out into the world. Indeed, what does the future hold for Yushi, Hase, Tashiro, and all of the living and non-living residents of the Yokai Apartment?
This seems to be the theme that will be at the core of the upcoming final episode. The residents of the Kotobuki-so will be discussing the future over some food and drinks. There may even be a glimpse into what will become of Yushi in the future. Will he be able to leave the apartment? Will he be returning to it once he has achieved his dreams?
Will the finale be the laidback episode it seems to be in the preview, or will there be one final conflict that's about to erupt in the most unexpected way?
"Elegant Yokai Apartment Life" airs on Mondays at 11 p.m. JST on Tokyo MX, and late night at 1:59 a.m. JST on Yomiuri TV. It also airs on Tuesdays late night at 1:30 a.m. JST on BS11.
