'Far Cry Primal Deluxe Edition': Additional Gameplay Allows Players to Be a Mammoth in Collector's Edition

Developer Ubisoft is encouraging gamers to pre-order its new game "Far Cry Primal." It is offering gamers the chance to be a mammoth for a change in a collector's edition of the game, "Far Cry Primal Deluxe Edition."

The "Far Cry Primal Deluxe Edition" includes a physical copy of the game, as well as three extra and exclusive mammoth missions. The additional 45-minute gameplay is titled "Legend of the Mammoth," where a drink from the shaman's cup allows players to take on the role of a mammoth, the largest animal in Oros.

The three missions are Duel of Beasts, The Trapped Elder, and Hunt the Hunter. In Duel of Beasts, the player will have to battle against a powerful rhino spirit and his herd. In The Trapped Elder, the player must break into a camp to free the mammoth's captured leader. And in Hunt the Hunter, the player must lead a group of mammoths to defeat those who threaten the herd.

In addition to the game and the three mammoth missions, "Far Cry Primal Deluxe Edition" also includes a physical map, a CD soundtrack, a new weapon (the Blood Shasti Club), four enhancement packs (the Sabretooth pack, the Owl pack, the Mammoth pack, and the Bomb pack), an exclusive SteelBook case, and extra digital content as well.

"Far Cry Primal" is about the story of Takkar, a Stone Age man who finds out he has the ability to tame animals, the first ever of his kind to do that. He must use his newfound ability to survive both the wilderness and hostile neighboring hunters.

"Far Cry Primal" is available for pre-order in Standard Edition, Apex Edition, and Deluxe Edition. The game will release on Sony's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One on Feb. 23. It will come to the PC on March 1, 2016.
