'Final Fantasy 15' News: Character-Creation Feature Confirmed; Nintendo Switch Launch Not Planned

Those who are hoping to experience "Final Fantasy 15" on the Nintendo Switch are in for bad news as Square Enix is not too keen on bringing the game to the highly anticipated next-generation console from Nintendo.

In an interview with Dual Shockers, game director Hajime Tabata revealed that there are "no plans" for that yet seeing that "it wouldn't run" on the new video game console.

When pressed to tell more about the possibility of "Final Fantasy 15" skipping a Nintendo Switch launch, his answer was not as close-ended as the previous one.

"It might run ... But we haven't conducted the proper tests on whether it would run properly on Switch or not, so I cannot say for sure," Tabata explained. Whether they will test "Final Fantasy 15" on the device soon or not remains to be seen.

"There are no plans for Switch at the moment, but overall, there is interest in the platform among the development team," he went on to say, which suggests that not all hope is lost for a Nintendo Switch release for "Final Fantasy 15."

In the same interview, Tabata also confirmed that the game will have a character creation feature, which made many fans happy. The team is currently hard at work on it although they are not ready to show it just yet.

While fans will not be treated with their first look at the feature in "Final Fantasy 15" anytime soon, the game director did elaborate on the plans they have for it.

"What we're doing right now is not just implementing a character creation feature, but we want to combine that with a multiplayer feature, so that players can not only create a new character, but also bring it in multiplayer," he explained.

"Final Fantasy 15" is now available on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The Nintendo Switch will be released on March 3.
