'Fixer Upper' Season 5 News: HGTV Show's Final Season to Begin Airing on Nov. 21

HGTV has finally announced that the fifth and final season of "Fixer Upper" will arrive on November 21.

After Joanna and Chip Gaines revealed earlier that the upcoming fifth season of "Fixer Upper" will be its last, HGTV has finally attached a release date to the popular TV show, whose previous season scored an average of 27.5 million viewers.

When "Fixer Upper" returns for its fifth and final season next month, its 19 episodes will still focus on the Gaines evaluating and transforming houses that need repairing into a version that would fit the owners' idea of a dream house. The upcoming season will also feature some special guests, including former U.S. first lady Laura Bush and ex-football star Tim Tebow.

Meanwhile, although "Fixer Upper" will take a bow after its fifth season, the Gaines have confirmed that they would return for a spinoff of the series that made them a household name in America. The spinoff series will be titled "Fixer Upper: Behind the Design" and will focus on how Joanna comes up with the designs featured on the show.

To recall, the Gaines announced last month that they would be ending their "Fixer Upper" stint after the upcoming fifth season. According to the Gaines duo, while they believe that their decision to end the show is the right thing to do, arriving at such a decision was never easy.

"This has been an amazing adventure! We have poured our blood, sweat, and tears into this show. We would be foolish to think we can go and go and fire on all cylinders and never stop to pause. Our family is healthy and our marriage has honestly never been stronger...Our plan is to take this time to shore up and strengthen the spots that are weak, rest the places that are tired and give lots of love and attention to both our family and our businesses," goes a portion of the couple's announcement on their family business website, Magnolia.
