Movies, shows to watch this Easter: Top picks on faith, redemption and resurrection

'House of David' (Now streaming on Prime)
From Wonder Project’s Jon Gunn and Jon Erwin comes “House of David,” a faith-based series based on the life of King David. The show explores the prophetic journey of Israel’s most famous king, offering insight into God’s covenant, leadership and the unfolding plan of redemption.
The series, just renewed for season two, dramatizes the accounts of Saul and David in 1 Samuel. Since its debut, the series has remained among Amazon Prime’s most-watched in the U.S. All episodes are now streaming.
"Even if you know your Bible well, we wanted to surprise the audience constantly with plot twists and character interactions," Erwin told The Christian Post. "That was one of the joys of this project, telling a story everyone knows but making it feel new and fresh."
"There’s so much more to David’s story than just the famous Goliath battle," he continued. "We have the chance to show what happens in between, and bring those parts of the story to life in a new way."
