'Frozen 2' Update: Elsa to Show Different Side, Love Interest for Olaf?

'Frozen 2' Update: Elsa to Show Different Side, Love Interest for Olaf?

Queen Elsa of Arendelle in "Frozen" | Disney/Frozen

Disney's computer-animated musical fantasy comedy film "Frozen" dominated the world ever since it was released in 2013. Even until now, fans, especially children, continue to rave about Kristen Bell's Anna and Idina Menzel's Snow Queen Elsa. And though it may have toned down a little bit now, it's expected to go full blast again once "Frozen 2" hits theaters.

According to a report by Hall of Fame Magazine, there is no release date yet for the forthcoming sequel. But even so, co-director Chris Buck divulged that they already have lots of ideas for "Frozen 2." They even channeled some of their concepts in a short animated musical sequel titled "Frozen Fever" wherein they showed a sick Elsa on Anna's birthday. With the determination to give her sister a surprise birthday, Elsa struggled to organize the party despite her runny nose and sneezing out little snowmen.

Buck told Fandango that the short feature gave them an opportunity to have fun with Elsa since in the first movie, she was seen as gloomy and cold. "[In Frozen] she had such a dramatic journey, and at the end she's just starting to feel like she can open up and have some fun again," Buck said. "That's what was really good about the short -- we could have fun with Elsa. And that personality... you will see in the next one," he concluded.

Fans will have to watch out then for a different side of Elsa. Speculations suggest that she could be more caring and loving this time in the sequel. She may also learn to open up herself to others and even understand how her power works, allowing her to connect better to people in a nicer way.

Moreover, the other characters of the film are also expected to have a lot going on. As detailed in Bustle, Josh Gad, the voice behind the jolly and good snowman Olaf, shared that the film is in development phase but he is tightlipped with other details including the theory about Olaf being in love. He admitted though that he is hesitant with the idea. But he trusts the writers.
