'Grey's Anatomy' Season 12 Cast News: New Characters and Guest Stars for the Season

Since the 12th season of "Grey's Anatomy" is currently ongoing, fans were able to see the many changes in the series.

Despite the unfortunate event of Derek Shepherd's, played by Patrick Dempsey, death, it was said that the upcoming episodes will be lighter than the previous seasons.

It was reported that executive producer Shonda Rhimes explained that the new season of "Grey's Anatomy" was very similar to the early season of the series. She shared that the new story lines of the characters will see more humor.

The season will see a new doctor played by Martin Henderson. He will be taking on the role of a resident doctor, making his debut near the end of season 12. In addition, the season also introduced a set of new characters and guest stars.

It was confirmed that actors Ioan Gruffudd and Patrick Wilson will be taking on new characters for the upcoming season. However, there were no details revealed about what their exact roles will be.

Gruffudd is a British actor who recently took roles in popular TV series such as "Castle," "Glee," "Family Guy," and "American Dad." Wilson also had his own distinct experiences in several series such as "American Dad," "A Gifted Man," "Girls," and "Fargo." He also had roles in movies such as "Insidious: Chapter 2," "The Conjuring," "Watchmen," and "Passengers."

Along with new characters, the season will also feature some guest stars. There are reports confirming that Josh Duhamel will be appearing in an episode of the season. In addition, Kris Polaha, Matthew Goode, Eric Mabius, Jay Hernandez, Omar Epps, and Scott Speedman will be introduced as guest stars in the series.

With all the new faces, it is expected that the season will see some interesting stories.
